Steven has been working full time for Rick Tonkinson & Associates since January of 2003. Steven earned his B.A. in Accounting, with a minor in Economics, in 2001 from the Fisher School of Accounting at the University of Florida where he was a four-year recipient of the Florida Academic Undergraduate Full Scholarship.   Before coming to Rick Tonkinson & Associates, Inc., Steven interned for Moody’s Investor Services as a credit risk analyst in Santiago, Chile. 

Steven is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™since 2005 .  He completed the CFP® Certification Professional Education Program at Florida International University.

Steven also has  the Certified Fund Specialist (CFS®) designation from the Institute of Business & Finance.

Steven's industry registrations include FINRA Series 24 (General Securities Principal), FINRA Series 7 (General Securities Representative), NASAA Series 63 (Securities Agent State Law Registration), NASAA Series 66 (Uniform Investment Advisors Law), FINRA Series 6 (Investment Company & Variable Contracts Product Representative) and  2-15 license (Life, Health, and Variable Annuity). Steven serves as the Officer of Supervisory Jurisdiction and Branch Manager.

Steven has had many prestigious internships with such institutions as the Securities & Exchange Commission, Bear Stearns and the New England Funds. 

In addition, Steven is an Eagle Scout and is the proud owner of a chocolate Labrador named Yogi Bear.  Steven lives in Coconut Grove.  He volunteers as a response team member for the disaster-relief charity Shelterbox.  He enjoys competing and training for triathlons and marathons.
