Margarita joined Rick Tonkinson & Associates in September of 2000.  She graduated with a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Miami in 1986. She currently has her series 6 license and her Health, Life and Annuity license.

Before joining her husband Rick, Margarita had an extensive professional career in the field of international education.  She worked 11 years at the University of Miami as Associate Director of the Office of International Programs.  From 1994 to 2000, she was Executive Director of WorldStudy International Educational Services.  Margarita received a presidential appointment twice to serve on the J. William Fulbright Board of Foreign Scholarships from 1990 to 1995. 

Margarita is on the Board of Directors of the Miami Rotary Club. Margarita and Rick have been happily married for 32 years and live in Miami.  She enjoys gardening, fishing and traveling.

Rick and Margarita are trustees of the Rick Tonkinson and Family Charitable Fund.  Since  2004, this charitable fund has donated to several organizations including:
